Creating a TEM Profile in the Kuali Financial System

All travel and entertainment reimbursements are processed through UCI's Kuali Financial System (KFS), and if you want to be reimbursed, you will need to create a TEM (Travel and Event Management) Profile. It's not difficult and only takes a few minutes.

Important Note: To access KFS and other secure UCI online systems, all users must use a UCI Internet Connection. If working off-site or remote, you'll need to download (one-time) and ensure OIT's Virturual Private Network (VPN) Software is active. Access OIT VPN instructions.

Step-by-Step: Creating Your TEM Profile

Step 1: Access the TEM Profile Lookup feature

  • Access the lookup.
    • Make sure you are using a UCI internet connection or VPN
  • Alternatively, you can find the link in ZotPortal. After logging in (on the top right), the link is in the Faculty & Staff Tab, under Finances/KFS, and in the Travel & Event Management box under TEM Profile.

Step 2: Create the TEM Profile

  • After logging in as yourself, on this new screen, press the Create New Profile button in the upper right-hand corner.
    create new profile

NOTE: If you do not see this button in the upper-right hand corner, that means your profile already exists and there is nothing you need to do. You can skip the next step.

Step 3 (Optional): Add an individual arranger to your TEM Profile*

  • If you would like to give someone that might not be in your department access to your TEM profile so that they can create reimbursement documents for you, we have instructions on how to Add an Arranger.

Step 4: Submit your request to create the profile

  • On the page, simply press Submit at the bottom of the screen to create your profile. It is optional to fill out the rest of the page.

*By default, at least one person in your organization has access to create reimbursements for everyone else in your group. (This person is called a TEM Org Profile Arranger in KFS.). For this reason, adding another individual Arranger is optional.

For more information, we have a guide on how TEM Profiles and TEM Arrangers work.
