Rides Around the World - UCI Business Ride Options

Economy, Affordable Rides and Reimburseable Business Expense, UberX and UberXL:

  • UberX – appropriate for single riders and complies with the UC G-28 Travel Policy. Cars can’t hold much luggage, seats up to 4 passengers. Cars such as Toyota Prius, and Honda Accord.
  • UberXL right option for large group of people, ride for 5 or more passengers – vans or SUVs. About 30% more expensive. Recommended if 2 or 3 people with luggage. Seats up to 6 passengers in an SUV or minivan.

Upgraded Rides, Requires Business Explanation and Department Exceptional Approval

  • Uber Comfort, seats 4, newer vehicles, no more than five years old with more head and legroom than Uber X. Need to maintain a rating of 4.85 or higher.
  • Uber Select, entry level luxury service, seats up to 4 passengers, BMS, Mercedes, Audis, etc.
  • Uber Black & Uber SUV, luxury service, registered and insured luxury vehicles, typically black SUV or luxury sedan, most expensive Uber service.
