UCI Travel Policy & Delegation of Authority Updated

Sent to the AFS-Update mailing list on Jan. 18, 2022

UCI recently updated its campus policy and delegations related to business travel and entertainment expenses. The update does not introduce new rules or requirements – instead, the changes are intended to make these resources easier to use and aligned with current UC policies and governmental regulations. Campus business offices should be aware of the two major updates:

  • UCI Delegation of Authority IDA632 was created to clearly list which campus administrators have the authority to approve exceptions to travel and entertainment regulations (or grant additional approval where required). IDA632 supersedes several older delegations.

Keep in mind that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UCI’s Executive Directive on Travel remains in effect and all non-essential travel should be postponed until further notice. If you have any questions about travel or entertainment reimbursement, please contact the Accounts Payable Travel Accounting team at travel-accounting@uci.edu
