Updated Alcohol Policy and Guidance

Sent to the KFS-Update mailing list on April 30, 2018

UCI recently updated its policy regarding the service of alcoholic beverages at university sponsored events. Specifically, the policy no longer requires an Alcohol Request Form for off-campus events with nine or fewer attendees. For example, if a staff member has a recruitment event at a restaurant off campus for eight people and alcohol is served, they do not need to submit a form.

For more information about serving alcohol at UCI sponsored events, please visit the Hospitality & Dining Services Alcohol Page. The page now includes a decision tree that can help you determine when an Alcohol Request Form is needed. If required, the form should be submitted in advance to Hospitality & Dining Services. Later, when you prepare the Entertainment (ENT) Reimbursement, it should be uploaded along with your receipts and other supporting documents.
